The 16 teams will be split into four groups of four teams, each of which will play three matches against the other teams in its group, with the top two teams from each group continuing to the knockout rounds.
In the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup, India is in Group C with fourth-seeded Chinese Taipei, Germany, and Canada, while defending winners and most successful team Indonesia is in Group A with hosts Thailand, South Korea, and Singapore. China, the 10-time winner, plays in Group B with Denmark, France, and Algeria, while Japan, Malaysia, England, and the United States, who have replaced New Zealand due to COVID-19 difficulties, are in Group D.
The knockout stage of the 2022 Thomas Cup will begin on May 12 with the quarter-finals and conclude on May 15 with the final tie in Bangkok, Thailand. The top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the next round.
