Third Largest Cricket Stadium In The World To Be Built In Jaipur

The green flag has been waved at Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), permitting Rs.100 crore by the BCCI, for the formation to erect the second largest stadium of India in Jaipur

The arena’s initial phase of the project is estimated to take between two and a half years.   The entire cost of the construction project is anticipated to be around Rs.290 crore.

BCCI To Give Rs.100 crore For New Jaipur Stadium

The BCCI will sanction Rs.100 crore as groundwork endowment, another 100 crore loan from the bank, and Rs.90 crore from Rajasthan Cricket Association will pool in the required cash with few sponsorships. 

Vaibhav Gehlot, President of the RCA, tweeted, “Historic day for cricket in Rajasthan- I went to JDA to collect the lease deed and possession letter from JDC Gaurav Goyal for the site for India’s second-largest cricket stadium, which is proposed for Jaipur. GS Sandhu, Advisor, Mahendra Sharma, Secy, and others were also present.”

The projected facility will have a total of 75,000 seating capacity making it the highest seater stadium after the recently inaugurated Narendra Modi Stadium.  The architectural project will be completed in two stages.

The venue will also include 44 international class cricket pitches and a 40,000 spectator capacity in the first phase. The sports complex would be of world standard, including two practice fields, four cricket academies, dormitories, parking facilities, and sporting amenities such as a club, hotel, and gym.

Biggest Cricket Stadiums In The World

The world’s largest stadium in India Narendra Modi Stadium famous for installing a seating capacity for over 132,000 viewers. Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is home to the cricket stadium. President Ram Nath Kovind unveiled it in February 2021, before the Test Series India vs England. 

Originally built in 1983, this stadium was first refurbished in 2006. In 2015, it was stopped down and intentionally destroyed. Rebuilt to the full at an anticipated cost of Rs 800 crore by February 2020.

On 24 February 2021, it was named after the Narendra Modi Stadium in honor, which is also an ex-Gujarat Chief of Ministers, the Prime Minister of India.

With a seating capacity of 80,000, the Eden Gardens cricket pitch in Kolkata is now the second-largest cricket stadium in India and the third-largest in the world.

The cricket stadium, which was built in 1864, is India’s finest and is typically called the “home of Indian cricket.”
