The Indian contingent will be lead by Javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia and High Jumper Mariyappan Thangavelu, for the Tokyo Paralympics, which are going to begin from August 24.
Players like Sandeep Chowdhury and Sumeet have also been included in the squad apart from Jhajharia and Thangavelu, the flagbearer, who were selected because they had won gold medals in F46 javelin and T-42 high jump events during the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

The curious case of selection of Ranjeet Bhati, Indian javelin thrower for Paralympics
The committee decided to pick Ranjeet Bhati, who plays in the men’s F-75 javelin event , was also selected for the squad. Even though, his name was not there in the list of athletes, who were waiting for accreditation and his ranking was also low before the trials.
