A father’s plan to kidnap a wealthy child goes awry when he learns that the child’s parents have died in the comic thriller The Kidnapping Day. As a result, they become embroiled in a chain of mysteries that could have a dramatic impact on their future.
How did The Kidnapping Day end
Ro-hee finally manages to coax a murder confession out of Hye-eun in the penultimate episode, and Hye-eun uses him as bait to get away. Hye-Eun, the same child he had met at the orphanage and who wanted love more than anything, is distraught, but Myung-joon comes to comfort her.
After Hye-eun bursts into tears, he reassures her that he has always prayed for her and that he will never despise her. When the police finally uncover Hye-eun as the real killer of Choi Jin-tae, Hye-eun lets go of Ro-hee and tears in his arms.
When the media asks Sang-yoon about Hye-eun, he makes sure to clarify that she is only interested in Jin-tae’s wealth and not his study. Myung-joon’s trial date is quickly approaching, and Ro-hee has requested to give her remarks on her own accord this time around.
She admits to the judge that Myung-joon abducted her, but she claims he never disobeyed her and only made her feel comfortable during their time together. Her response stems not from any deep feelings of empathy but rather from a desire to see him freed as quickly as possible.
Classroom
Ro-hee starts school with Hee-ae soon and, remembering Myung-joon’s teachings, she gives a highly formal self-introduction in front of the class. As she takes her first steps toward being a typical 12-year-old, Eun-sun travels to one of the places listed in Ro-hee’s note to her.
There, she observes a young woman working out complex math problems aloud on the classroom blackboard. The resemblance between the girl’s features and Ro-hee’s is what really shocks Eun-sun. The girl who introduces herself as Elena could be Ro-hee’s twin or a secret project that Jin-tae has kept from everyone.
Eun-seun arrives in Singapore and goes to one of the addresses given to her by Ro-hee but however, she is soon in for a shock when she sees a girl solving advanced maths problems and looks the same as Ro-hee.
The show has a happy ending as the murderer gets arrested. Despite serving jail time, Myeong-Jun maintains a good relationship with Ro Hee and the daughter is doing well too.
