The Kidnapping Day Kdrama season 2 release date update and plot story
Neither ENA nor Prime Video have announced that they will be renewing The Kidnapping Day for a second season as of this writing. It wouldn’t be shocking if they renewed it for a second season, considering the show’s consistently high ratings.

Episode 1 had a 1.8% share of the national audience, but subsequent episodes have steadily increased those numbers, with Episode 11 garnering a 4.2% part of the national audience.
Since most Korean dramas end after one season, we expect The Kidnapping Day to follow suit. It’s not surprising that the creators would give this another season considering the enthusiastic response from viewers and the show’s high ratings.
Know more about The Kidnapping Day
The show tells the narrative of Kim Myung-joon, a poor yet kind guy who desperately needs money to pay for an operation on his ailing daughter. After his ex-wife suggests he kidnap the child of wealthy parents, he has an accident and accidentally hits a young girl named Choi Ro-hee.
Ro-hee has not only forgotten who she is; her parents have passed away, too. Myung-joon assumes the identity of Ro-hee’s biological father when no one offers to pay the ransom demanded her release. When Ro-hee learns that Myung-joon is not her biological father but rather her captor, the situation quickly escalates into chaos.
What To Expect in The Kidnapping Day season 2
With the exception of a few shows on Netflix (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist, etc.), most Korean dramas only run for one season. The chances of a renewal of this particular agreement are low, however.
It’s possible, though, that the performers will come back for a sequel or spinoff starring the same characters. But despite that possibility, our research suggests that The Kidnapping Day will not be revived. While an official release date isn’t known, the show should land in early 2025 if its renewed.
