In the highlight quarterfinal match of 2023 Thailand Masters on Thursday, sixth-seed Kjaersfeldt succumbed to defeat against fourth-seed Han Yue after the Chinese shuttler bagged straight-set victory by score of 13-21, 10-21. Following her resounding victory, Han Yue has qualified for the semi-final and is scheduled to face-off against unseeded Hsu Wen-chi with a berth in Sunday’s championship match at stake.
Meanwhile, former India Open champion Supanida Katethong has qualified for the semi-final after her comfortable win against Sim Yu-jin. Following her qualification for the semi-final round, Katethong is scheduled to play against seventh-seed Chinese star Zhang Yiman. On Saturday, both of the semi-final matches will be played before deciding the finalists for Sunday’s clash.

According to the latest announcements of BWF Points System, the winner of the 2023 Thailand Masters will receive 7,000 BWF points, in contrast to the runner-up’s reward of 5,950 points. Line Kjaersfeldt’s tournament run came to an abrupt end with her unlucky quarterfinal defeat, hence she will only be receiving 3,850 BWF points.
