Ashmita prevailed over her opponent with a score of 21-16, 21-19, maintaining her control throughout the entire contest. Her victory has guaranteed Ashmita a spot in the second-round matchup against sixth-seed Line Kjaersfeldt with a spot in the quarterfinal at stake.

Among other first-round matches, tournament favorite Han Yue survived an early setback against Natsuki Nidaira to secure a comeback victory by score of 18-21, 21-15, 21-12. Meanwhile, Zhang Yiman has survived a major scare to qualify for the next round despite struggling against her first-round opponent. 2023 Thailand Masters: BWF points award system

According to the BWF Points System, the winner of the 2023 Thailand Masters will receive 7,000 BWF points as compared to the runner-up, who would receive 5,950. Indian youngster Arundhati Upadhyaya was eliminated from the very first-round of the 2023 Thailand Masters, which will see her say goodbye to the competition with only 1,670 BWF points.
