For the curious, before the conclusion of Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond, it was announced on Saturday that a fourth season of the popular series is in development.

Although “Ted Lasso” co-creator Jason Sudeikis initially planned a 3-season storyline, continuing the show beyond Season 3 was always a possibility.

Despite being open to extending the series, the showrunners have left the decision entirely to the co-creator of the sports drama, Sudeikis.

However, let us remind you, as of now, there isn’t any official confirmation regarding the return of any of the original cast. So, as of now we can only speculate and while waiting for the official confirmation.

Meanwhile, the cast members whose contracts expired include the co-creator Sudeikis, who plays Ted Lasso, along with Brendan Hunt and Juno Temple. Still, as of now, it’s unclear which characters will return for Season 4 but the main cast is set to reprise its roles.

Ted Lasso stars Jason Sudeikis as a small-time college football coach from Kansas who is hired to coach a footballteam in England, despite having no experience in football. The show features a cast including Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, Brendan Hunt, Juno Temple and Phil Dunster and was developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, based on characters from NBC Sports.

Expected Release Date

Though, much of the show’s future hinges on Sudeikis’ involvement. If all goes well, production could start in early 2025, with new episodes likely premiering on Apple+ late next year. While the number of total episodes isn’t known yet, season 4 could have 12 episodes, same as season 3.
