Murray had reached the finals for the first time in the last two years following his hip injury that doesn’t let the player stand on his own for long. The player last played in the final in October 2019 in Antwerp for the European Open trophy.

The match was played between former World No. 1 Andy Murray and Aslan Karatsev on Saturday where the Russian managed to beat the Briton 6-3, 6-3 in three sets.

Murray was dominated by Aslan where he struggled in the opening set that made the Russian dominate him and take advantage of the mistake committed by the British professional.

Murray had the chance to win his first title in two years but his health doesn’t support the player. He had been sidelined due to his multiple hip injuries and surgery.

Murray had defeated Reilly Opelka to advance the final. He will be now seen at the Australian Open 2022 where he has gotten the wild card entry.

“I’d like to thank my family back home…I miss you all,” said Murray emotionally after the game.

Sydney International Classic Tennis 2022 Men’s Doubles Results

The pair of Australian John Peers and Slovakian Filip Polasek were crowned with the ATP 250 trophy against the pair Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fogini of Italy at the Ken Rosewall Arena.

Peers and Polasek dominated on serve that lasted for 100 minutes. The Italians managed to bounce back in the second set but the result says it wasn’t enough as they couldn’t convert anymore to conquer the winners.
