The 2022 Swiss Open will be the sixth competition on the BWF World Tour, and it will be part of the Swiss Open championships, which have been held annually since 1955. The Swiss Badminton Federation is organising the event, which is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation.
Viktor Axelsen from Denmark is the defending champion in Men’s Singles category of BWF Swiss Open Badminton after having won the 2021 edition. However, he announced his withdrawal from the tournament before his second-round match against P Kashyap.

Anders Antonsen, the second-seeded Danish player, was defeated by Kidambi Srikanth, the seventh-seeded shuttler from India. With scores of 21-19, 19-21, and 22-20, Srikanth emerged victorious in a nail-biting match. Kidambi Srikanth has advanced to the Swiss Open 2022 semi-finals after this big upset.
In a 43-minute quarterfinal match, Prannoy defeated fellow countryman Parupalli Kashyap 21-16 21-16. In the semifinals, Prannoy will face Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, the third seed. In a 39-minute quarterfinal encounter, the Indonesian defeated another Indian, Sameer Verma, 21-17 21-14.
