Legendary shooter Jorge Ballesteros from Spain after being found in his automobile with a gunshot wound to the head, has been confirmed dead, know his age and cause of death

According to a Spanish website called ABC, the 39-year-old man was found in his parked car at the La Vaguada shopping centre in Madrid on Monday before being sent to the La Paz University Hospital.

The man also worked as a police officer in his hometown. On the other hand, it was announced that he had passed away the day after, which resulted in a flood of tributes being paid to the late star.

Ballesteros was born in San Sebastian, which is located in the Basque Country; nevertheless, he relocated to Madrid when he was six years old and lived the majority of his youth in that city. According to the information provided on his official website, when he was a boy he “dreamed of being a professional shooter.” At the age of 16, with his father’s consent, he began his first steps in the sport.

After only two years of competing as a junior prospect, Ballesteros became the youngest athlete in history to win the overall championship for Spain in the Open category. He did this by claiming the title of overall champion in the Open category. After that, he went on to win three Open golds at the European Handgun Championships (in 2013, 2016, and 2019), and in 2017, he achieved his goal of becoming the IPSC world champion. He also won three Open golds at the European Handgun Championships in 2013.

Jorge Ballesteros was a “great athlete”

Ballesteros was praised as “an exceptional human being” and a “great athlete” by Miguel Frances, the head of the Spanish Shooting Federation. The regional head of IPSC in Israel, Itzik Ellenbogen, lauded the legendary shooter as “a fantastic example of a top athlete and a perfect gentleman.”

Fifteen-time Eduardo do Cobos, the champion of Spain in handgun competition, is the only athlete to have ever beaten Ballesteros’ total of 12. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children, however the official particulars regarding the circumstances of his passing are still being determined.
