According to reports, Smite 2 will be a full sequel to the original title and aim to go beyond hit games like Overwatch 2 and Counter-Strike 2.
Smite 2: Alpha expected release date
As of now, the developers have not announced a release date for the game; however, fans can expect Smite 2: Alpha to release by spring 2024.

Smite 1 status after Smite 2 release
As of now, the game developers have not announced any news about plans to shut down Smite 1 once they release Smite 2. The game will most probably co-exist with Smite 2 and even get another year of content. However, if players start leaving Smite 1 and lose interest in the old game, the developers will eventually shut down the servers. PS4 and Xbox One players will be delighted with this news, as Smite 2 is a current-gen-only release.
Smite 2 Alpha how to sign up
Players who wish to start as soon as the release takes place can sign up on their official website. While just registering for the Alpha doesn’t guarantee access, players can also choose to buy their way in. They can do this by purchasing a Smite 2 Founder’s Pack, which includes some Smite 1 goodies.
Smite 2: Alpha new features
Notably, Smite 2: Alpha will feature a whole new, different set-up where almost everything has changed from Smite 1. Players will get to play on an updated map with completely different lane layouts and jungle camps. Moreover, all the items will be completely changed, and gods can now buy strength and intelligence instead of just magical or physical damage items. While the full list of game modes haven’t been confirmed, the main competitive mode will be the same map that many Smite 2 players start off in Alpha.
