The Six Nations 2023 is the first competitive championship of the year, where all the six teams will be looking forward to kick-off the year with a successful trophy win.
Six Nations 2023 Round 1 action
In the opening match France, who are the defending Grand Slam champions won a hard-fought victory against Italy. The Les Blues are next set to face off against Ireland. Ireland are considered favourites to win the match and get revenge from their last title match 12 months ago.
Andy Farrell and his men are currently ranked no1 in the world. The team managed to beat both South Africa and Australia during the autumn following a historic win against New Zealand. Thy Ireland currently top the table after a crushing 34-10 win over Wales on day one.
England on the other hand suffered an opening defeat under new coach Steve Borthwick. Similarly, Wales’ new coach Warren Gatland failed to bring improvement in his teams performances, following a heavy loss against Ireland.
Meanwhile, Gregor Townsend’s Scotland produced a superb opening win against England at Twickenham. Italy will be looking to avoid the wooden spoon and continue with their excellent form from last year, where they beat Wales and Australia.
