Thanks to his stellar run at the 2023 Pathum Thani Six-red World Championship, Chinese ace Ding Junhui yet again thrashed the reigning world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan. Following his resounding 6-2 victory against Ronnie, the 14-time ranking event champion qualified for the quarterfinal, where he clashed against Stuart Bingham. During the evening session’s quarterfinal match, Junhui emerged victorious by score of 6-2 against Bingham to seal his own berth in the semi-final stage.
It is confirmed that Ding Junhui will face-off against English star Tom Ford in one of the semi-final matches on Friday, while Thepchaiya Un-Nooh is scheduled to play Hossein Vafaei in the other semi-final tie. It is already known that the total prize fund for this competition will be 11 million Thai baht, or around $265,000, and that the winner will be entitled to 4.2 million baht, or $100,000.
