Sharad Kumar who is presently 29 was born on 1 March in the year 1992. Kumar Hails from Patna, India. He is a professional India Para High Jump and is considered one of the best Para athletes in India. Sharad Kumar has studied at St. Paul’s School.
He has a disability of impaired muscle power and is sponsored by Go Sports Foundation by the Para Champions Programme.
Sharad’s disability is listed in class T42. Sharad Kumar fought against all odds of life and has made himself the best one.
Paralympian Sharad Kumar High Jump Career
At a quite young age of two, Sharad Kumar suffered from paralysis in his left leg after taking spurious polio medicine from a local eradication drive. Sharad Kumar studied at St. Paul’s School of Darjeeling where he began his high jump career when he was in grade 7.
Till date Kumar has broken numerous school and district records by competing against able-bodied players. For higher studies, Sharad moved to Delhi, India where he studied and passed from the Modern School.
Kumar is a graduate in Political Science from Kirori Mal College. Presently his occupation is as an Athlete, sports Coach, and also he is an active member of the Sports Authority of India (SAI).

The high jumper, Sharad Kumar has represented India in the Men’s athletic Paralympic Games and bagged a Bronze medal in the year 2020 at the Tokyo Summer Para Games. Kumar participated in High Jump, category T63, at the Asian Para Games as well.
Sharad Kumar bagged a Gold medal by being at the first place South Korea F42 event during the year 2014. Kumar settled for a Gold medal in Indonesia at the T42/63 event held in the year 2018 and in the IPC World Championships Sharad Kumar got a Silver medal in the year 2017 in London.
