The shooting of the movie Shaakuntalam started in February 2021 in Hyderabad, including the Ananthagiri Hills. It was wrapped up within six months around the first week of August 2021. The plot of the film is a wonderful story of Shakuntala and Emperor Dushyanta. He is the king of Hastinapur and the ancestor of the Kuru Dynasty. The Adi Parva of the medieval Hindu epic Mahabharata portrays this epic love story perfectly in the film.

Fans will be happy to know that the new release date of the South Indian mythological movie Shaakuntalam is February 17, 2023. Earlier the film was scheduled to premiere in November 2022, however, it was delayed to be converted into a 3D format. The OTT platform of the Telugu movie Shaakuntalam is not confirmed yet.
