By defeating Ocampo, Fundora earned his highest pay day to date. Following his big win, the 24-year-old was reportedly guaranteed a fight purse of $500,000 and received extra pay-per-view points on top of that. Sebastian Fundora vs Carlos Ocampo Match Events & How it Unfolded?
Ocampo caught Fundora with a body shot just 15 seconds into their bout, eliciting a gasp from the audience. After about a minute of the first round, Ocampo scored a counter left to the top. Less than 10 seconds later, they traded strong shots, with Fundora shooting left and Ocampo shooting right. After the second round was over, Ocampo was bleeding from his nose as he made his way back to his corner. Fundora put greater pressure on Ocampo in round four, and while Ocampo was able to stay on his feet, there were times when he appeared worn out and might have been stopped.
With roughly 15 seconds left in the seventh round, Ocampo clipped Fundora with his right hand, but Fundora was able to walk through it. Throughout the middle minute of the seventh round, Ocampo and Fundora swapped heavy headshots. With less than a minute remaining in the seventh round, Fundora connected cleanly with a right hook.
