Who Was Saawan Kumar Tak?
Sawan Kumar Tak was a famous Indian film director, producer, and lyricist. He has been in the news because he died recently and many big celebrities such as Salman Khan are paying their heartfelt condolences to him.
He was born on 9 August 1936 in Jaipur, Jaipur State, British India. While we don’t know much about his parents, we know that he had three sisters and one brother.
He was married to music director Usha Khanna. But after some time, they got separated. They do not have any kids.
His height was 167 cm or 5 ft 6 inches. At the time of his death, he has 86 years old. He died in Mumbai Maharashtra on August 25, 2022.
His Career
In 1967, Saawan Kumar Tak started his career as the producer of the movie “Naunihal.” He made his directing debut with the movie “Gomti Ke Kinare” (1972).
He was the director of several popular Hindi movies, such as “Saajan Bina Suhagan,” “Souten,” “Souten Ki Beti,” “Sanam Bewafa,” and “Bewaffa Se Waffa.”
He was also a brilliant songwriter, penning music for the bulk of the movies he produced and directed.
He also wrote songs for other filmmakers’ movies. One of these is the film “Sabak,” which has the hit song “Barkha Rani Zara Jamke Barso.” He wrote all of the songs for the 2004 film “Dev,” as well as a few songs for the movie “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai.”
He has also contributed lyrics to a number of songs from his own films, including Lata Mangeshkar’s “Yeh Dil Bewafa Se Wafa,” “Zindagi Pyar Ka Geet Hai,” and “Hum Bhool Gaye.”
