The 27-year-old Sam Ke Ting, who was sentenced to six years in prison punishment by the Johor Bahru High Court on April 13 for the deaths of eight youths, has been permitted to appeal the judgement.
Sam was charged with reckless or dangerous driving, resulting in the death of the eight cyclists through the accident which happened at 3.20am in 2017 at Jalan Lingkaran Dalam, Johor Baru. The accident involved a group of 30 teenagers, who were riding lajak bicycles, a specific type of modified bicycle which includes the removal of brakes.

Who Is Sam Ke Ting?
We all drive a great distance, having a good time with our buddies, chilling in the car. That is something that we all normally do.
27 year old Sam Ke Ting, the irresponsible driver who killed eight youngsters, experienced the same fate. Yes, you read that correctly.
Something that was established very early on is that Sam Ke Ting, a clerk by trade earns RM2,000 a month (below the established poverty wage of RM2,200).
She was driving at 75 km/h. Suddenly, 8 young teenagers were cycling on the highway for reasons unknown. A crowd formed two or three minutes later, and bystanders contacted the cops. The event occurred around 3:20 a.m. on February 18, 2017 at Jalan Lingkaran Dalam. Unfortunately, eight young individuals died, and physicians were unable to rescue them.

Her driver’s licence has been suspended, and she will be banned to drive for the next 3 years. Charges against her were filed under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The woman says in her defence that she was unaware of the existence of a group of young people in the vicinity and that another automobile struck and left after hitting the victims. According to a Bernama report, the respondent never raised this version of events during the prosecution’s case.
She was not permitted to make any so-called defence comments since the judge did not want to hear them. Her defence is hopeless since all evidence is stacked against her, and she is helpless to defend herself. She was still young and had plenty of time left in her life. She is, however, unable to do much at this time due to her carelessness.
