Sajan Prakash started swimming at a tender age and joined Neyveli Lignite City Swimming Club. Sajan Prakash’s mother’s name is VJ Santhimol who was an erstwhile athlete; she has represented India at the international level. Sajan Prakash did his schooling at St. Paul’s Matriculation Higher Secondary school in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. He completed his graduation in Computer Applications from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu.

Practicing for years made him the champion, Sajan Parkash is an international swimmer now. In the year 2015, Sajan Prakash had achieved six gold medals back to back in a row, in 100m Butterfly, 200m Butterfly, 400m, 800m, and 1500m Freestyles event, 4x100m Freestyle, and two silver medals in 200m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley event at the National Games of India in the same year.

In the year 2016 at the South Asian Games, Sajan Prakash bagged three gold medals in the 200m Butterfly race, 1500m Butterfly, and 4x200m Freestyle. That year Sajan made his Olympic debut at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016 and finished at 28th position in the 200m Freestyle race.

In the year 2018, he was at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where he finished in the 8th position in the 200m Butterfly final with a timing of 1:59.05 seconds. Also in 2018, in August, he finished in 5th position in the 200m Butterfly race by clocking 1:57.75s and getting 8th position in the 4x100m Freestyle event.
