Between 2005 and 2011, Sreesanth played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for India. He was a member of MS Dhoni’s T20 World Cup-winning team in 2007 and the 50-over World Cup-winning team in 2011.

Shanthakumar Sreesanth IPL Spot Fixing Ban

The cricketer’s final IPL match was for the Royals against Punjab on May 9, 2013, the same season he was arrested after being suspected of spot-fixing. Despite maintaining his innocence throughout the devastating scandal, Sreesanth, along with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, was given a life ban.

The charismatic fast bowler subsequently appealed to the Supreme Court, which overturned the judgement and ordered the BCCI to consider a new penalty. The punishment was lowered to a seven-year suspended term that will expire in September 2020.

After that, in 2021, Sreesanth represented Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the current edition of the Ranji Trophy, he too made his Ranji Trophy return.
