What Exactly Happened in Chapter 8
As Ruri Aoki joyfully wakes up, she can’t wait to go on a weekend adventure with her mom. Her mother gets in the driver’s seat after she buckles up. Ruri suddenly begins to release static electricity, halting their advancement. The scene then shifts to a flashback where Ruri’s mother explains to her daughter the power of lightning to dragons.
She considers her daughter’s talent a “perk” linked to the dragon’s power as a whole. Plus, she’s completely bonkers at the idea that Ruri’s qualities could be completely inconsistent, leading her to launch a lightning bolt of her own making.
Tantrums
Ruri’s mom says it’s really important for her daughter to know how to handle her powers. Before preparing for an exciting day, she advises Ruri to obtain a good night’s sleep.
Right now, Ruri’s mom gets her an anti-static wristband so she can protect herself from future shocks. To give Ruri a run for her money, she takes her to a play area.
