The sidecar duo became the fourth and fifth racers to perish this year, as they died on the same section of the course as sidecar driver Cesar Chanel last Saturday. In the previous fortnight, Davy Morgan and Mark Purslow had sadly died at the event.
According to the notification, “The Isle of Man TT Races can confirm that Roger Stockton, 56, and Bradley Stockton, 21, both from Crewe, Cheshire, were both died in an incident on the second and last laps of the 2022 Isle of Man TT Races’ second Sidecar Race.”
“The incident happened near Ago’s Leap, a little over a mile into the lap.
“Roger and Bradley were a driver and a passenger, as well as a father and son.” Roger had competed in 20 TT races and was a seasoned TT rider. From 2000 through 2008, he competed at the TT on a regular basis, then returned in 2010, 2017, and this year.
“During his career, he earned twelve top-20 finishes, four top-10 finishes, and ten Bronze medals.”
On Monday, Bradley, a first-time TT racer, finished in an incredible eighth position with his father.
Since its inception in 1907, the Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy races have been an annual motorcycle racing event held in May/June on the Isle of Man. Many competitors have died in the event, making it one of the most deadly racing events on the planet.
The name of Roger’s wife is not known yet after she ended up losing both her husband and son.
