The star-studded line-up of Prague Chess Festival is competing in three different tournaments for supremacy, we take a look at the variants, schedule, standings, results and latest points table for 2022
On Wednesday, the fourth edition of the Prague Chess Festival began. Three players from the Masters section returned to the Czech capital after competing in the 2021 edition: reigning champion Sam Shankland, local representatives David Navara and Thai Dai Van Nguyen. Vidit Gujrathi and Pentala Harikrishna boycotted last year’s event after competing in the first two rounds, but are now back in the mix.

Tournament Schedule, Venue, Format, Rules, and Variants of Competitions
The Prague Chess Festival, which runs from June 8 to 17, promises to be a highlight of the chess calendar this year. In addition to multiple open events, the festival features three invitational tournaments: the Masters, Challengers, and Futures. The Masters field is led by Vidit Gujrathi and defending champion Sam Shankland, while the Challengers division is led by Hans Niemann and Vincent Keymer.
The 10-player invitational tournaments are single round-robin events with traditional time controls. A Masters, a Challengers, and a Futures will all be held at the same time. All of the games are taking place in Prague’s Hotel Don Giovanni. The Nov Bor Chess Club is in charge of organising the event.
Prague Chess Festival 2022 Latest Results and Round 5 Schedule
In the first three rounds of the Masters event at the Prague Chess Festival, the player controlling the white pieces won all six decisive games. The black player, on the other hand, won two out of three important games in Saturday’s fourth round. Paco Vallejo defeated David Anton in an all-Spanish battle, while Pentala Harikrishna beat Parham Maghsoodloo to join Le Quang Liem in the lead.

2022 Prague Chess Festival Latest Standings and Point Tally
After four rounds, Le Quang Liem and Pentala Harikrishna are tied for first place with three points in the Masters portion of the Prague Chess Festival. Three players are a half point behind the two co-leaders going into the event’s one rest day. In the Challengers section, Vincent Keymer is the only player with three out of four points.
