The Indian top-order batsman also known as Robbie was born on 11th November 1985 in Kerala. He started playing first-class cricket in 2002. Uthappa was regarded as one of the most talented youngsters during the time he made his debut. His style of batting was so eye-pleasing that he was nicknamed a “walking assassin” for his special shot walking down the pitch.
Uthappa impressed everyone with his debut against England back in 2007. He scored 86 runs while opening the innings in challenging conditions.
Robin’s father Venu was also an international Hockey umpire. He has served as president of the Karnataka hockey association.
