The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has revealed a new Saudi Super Cup structure for 2023, which will see the representation of four teams. From January 24 to January 29, 2023, this tournament will be held in Riyadh. According to the draw made on Saturday, Al-Ittihad will square off against Al-Nassr in the first semi-final match, and Al-Fayha will face-off against Al-Hilal in the second.
Al-Hilal won the previous Saudi Super Cup for 2021 after defeating Al-Faisaly on penalties in the championship game and with its three titles, it also has the most crowns. Meanwhile, Al-Nassr is the only team to have won the trophy in back-to-back seasons and Al-Ittihad holds the unfortunate record of losing in back-to-back finals. Elsewhere, Al-Fayha will be making their debut in this competition after emerging victorious in the 2021-22 King Cup.

After Al-Hilal finished as the winner of Saudi Professional League in addition to finishing as runner-up of King Cup, the extra spot of Super Cup was rewarded to Al-Nassr, who finished third in the Saudi Professional League last season. In the first semi-final on 25th, Al-Fayha will clash against Al-Hilal in a rematch of King Cup final. Meanwhile in the second semi-final, Al-Nassr will face-off against Al-Ittihad. Later on 29th January, the final match will be played in King Fahd International Stadium, Riyadh between the winners of semi-final ties.
