In February 2024, the world’s most famous football players, Lionel Messi of Inter Miami and Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr, will square off in the Riyadh Season Cup friendly tournament.

The annual Riyadh Season Cup is a part of the state-funded entertainment and sports festival that takes place in Saudi Arabia. Starting in 2019, the Riyadh Season features a variety of sports. The Riyadh Season Cup is technically a pentagon-shaped shield, however, each team will play each other in a league system with the winner being the side with the highest point total.
The match between Ronaldo and Messi, entitled “The Last Dance,” is scheduled to occur at the Kingdom Arena. While Messi’s Inter Miami will play the tournament as one of their final preseason games before the 2024 Major League Soccer season, Al Hilal and Al Nassr will play it during the Saudi Pro League season.
Even though it’s just a glorified friendly tournament, this year’s edition will pit Ronaldo and Messi against each other, much like it did in 2023 when Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain travelled to Saudi Arabia to play the Saudi All-Stars XI, which was led by Ronaldo.
When and where is the Riyadh Season Cup 2024?
The new year will mark the start of the Riyadh Season Cup, and the dates for the three matches have already been announced. In January, Inter Miami and Al Hilal will play in the first match of the round-robin competition. Tickets for the matches can be bought here.

Which teams are taking part in the Riyadh Season Cup 2024?
The Al Nassr club of Ronaldo and Inter Miami of Messi will undoubtedly be two of the three teams competing in the 2024 Riyadh Season Cup. They will be joined by Neymar’s Saudi Pro League squad, Al Hilal. However, because of his persistent ailment, the Brazilian will not be reunited with his old teammate and close friend, Messi.
