“Rest for being out of form,” Venkatesh Prasad Questions Why Virat Kohli Isn’t Being Dropped Despite His Appalling Form On Twitter, Tweet Goes Viral

“Rest for being out of form,” Venkatesh Prasad Questions Why Virat Kohli Isn’t Being Dropped Despite His Appalling Form On Twitter, Tweet Goes Viral

When criticising Virat Kohli, Venkatesh Prasad claims that the criteria for dropping players has changed and gives the examples of Ganguly and Yuvraj with the tweet on Twitter viral

Prasad added the names of Zaheer Khan and other notable Indian left-arm pacers.

The world’s best hitter, Virat Kohli, has appeared to be a pale ghost of the player he once was. The right-handed batter’s recent inability to score significant runs persisted in the second and third T20I matches against England, where the former captain was eliminated for runs of 1 and 11, respectively.

A few people want India’s team to be selected solely on the basis of current form and do not want to give Kohli a long run in the team despite the fact that initially there were not many voices questioning Kohli’s place in the team due to his excellent record across formats for an extended period of time.

Venkatesh Prasad, a former fast bowler for India, appears to hold a similar viewpoint. After yet another misfire from his bat, Kohli stated in a tweet that the criteria for dropping players had changed. He did not name the batter, though.

He gave the examples of former India captain Sourav Ganguly, Player of the Tournament Yuvraj Singh, seasoned off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, and Test triple century Virender Sehwag, all of whom had experienced career setbacks due to a decline in performance.

Zaheer Khan, India’s best left-arm bowler, and Anil Kumble, the team’s leading wicket-taker, were also added by Prasad to the list of players who were required to sit out for the “greater good.”

In the meantime, India’s cricket team defeated England 2-1 in a three-match T20I series. After Suryakumar Yadav’s hundred helped them get close, they lost the last game by 17 runs despite winning the first two matches by significant margins of 50 and 49 runs, respectively. India was held to 198/9 while attempting to reach the goal of 216.
