Real Madrid Lawsuit Against La Liga Officials And CVC Capital Partners Due To Deal

Earlier this month, La Liga confirmed that they have agreed to a deal with CVC and they are going to invest €2.7bn (£2.3bn) in the league. This was to improve the status of the league and nourish it. However, in return, La Liga is ready to share a 10% stake in the league with CVC.

Big clubs of the league like Real Madrid and Barcelona are not happy with the share. Furthermore, these are the teams that benefit most from the broadcasting rights and they will blow a huge loss if the deal goes on. Also, the deal is agreed for the next 50 years which is a huge time.

Moreover, the deal has been proposed and agreed upon by the La Liga officials. But, the 42 teams from the top 2 leagues of Spanish football will vote for the deal. La Liga needs at least 2/3 of the votes to pass the deal. It might be possible that many clubs will vote in favour as they don’t get many profits from the broadcasting and they will receive a good amount of money annually. Messi’s departure was also involved in the deal as La Liga forced Barcelona to agree or leave Messi.

Coming to the lawsuit, La Liga president Javier Tebas replied to it and said that the threatening method of Perez ( Real Madrid President) was been used in private but now it’s public.
