There are always videos and news going around the internet of young kids showing their talent and impressing the cricket fraternity in India.
One such case is of a young 9-year old “Vignaj Prajith” who got famous after his video of batting with a stump went viral on the internet. People on social media were praising him and wishing him luck for the future. Some were sure that he will play international cricket for his country in future.

Royals manager Romy Binder, who was impressed with Vignaj’s batting, has expressed his interest in looking over the young kid’s future and development as a cricketer. Romy Binder spoke to Vignaj’s father about this and confirmed that he could take over training. Romney said he saw the video of the match through Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson.
The nine year old kid played all cricket shots including defense, drive, square drive, pull and hook with a single stump. Many people ended up being amazed after seeing this magical performance of a nine-year-old in the nets.
Vignaj started training with the stump his bat broke during the lock down. He said that tt has helped in increasing his concentration. He also proved his mettle by scoring a half-century at the age of eight in the Under-14 competition. Local cricket coaches from the UK and Australia have also expressed their congratulations.
The single stump training on the temporary nightclub above the flat in Thrissur went viral. The video, taken during the last lockdown, came up on a cricket page a few days ago and it was discussed in several groups. Prominent cricketers showered congratulations on the youngster.
Australian club Sydney Sixers coach Greg Sheppard also praised Vignaj on social media. Ian Higgins and Sam Perry of “The Grade Cricketer” were also in awe of the young boy’s batting.
Vignaj is currently training at the Thrissur Loongs Cricket Academy under Satish Pillai and Giri Prasad. He practices cricket for five hours a day. Vignaj is a big fan of Indian opener and vice-captain Rohit Sharma.
