On Thursday, a businessman from Rourkela is said to have died by jumping off from the top floor of Om Tower located on Bistupur Diagonal Road in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. Rahul Agarwal was the person who died.

Who Was Rahul Agarwal?
Rahul Agarwal was a businessman from Rourkela. He was a resident of a Civil Township. He is 38 years old at the time of his death. His father’s name is Bajaranglal Agarwal.
In 2012, he married Jamshedpur’s Barsha Chudiwal (32) and they began a lovely married life together. In 2016, the couple had their twin kids. But the bliss faded after a few years. Following that, Barsha’s parents allegedly began inciting her against her in-laws.
As a result, Barsha began clashing with her husband, pressuring him to leave their joint family. Barsha left the house and went to her parents’ place in Jamshedpur with her children when Rahul ignored her requests.
His in-laws also imposed Section 498A against him. Let me explain that Section 498A was enacted in 1983 to safeguard married women from being subjected to abuse. It asserts that it protects women from dowry-related harassment and brutality.
Dowry poisoning caused a gap in the marriage, and life became ruined throughout the years of fighting. Seeing no other option, Rahul chose death.

In a hotel room, Rahul created seven 22-minute recordings in which he informed Varsha Churiwala and her family is the cause of his suicide. In the video, he says that his ashes should be held in the bank’s locker and not submerged until he receives justice.
Rahul also sent a suicide letter through courier to his brother in Rourkela, which has yet to be retrieved. After a post-mortem, the police will hand over Rahul’s remains to his relatives. Varsha’s parents and brothers, according to Rahul, used to interfere and break up their marriage even after their children were born.
He also said in the video that his elderly parents were suffering because they had to go to court. He further claimed that he was not permitted to see or speak with his children. He also said in the video that Jamshedpur police would not listen to their side and acted on his in-laws’ claims.
