PS Plus Premium finally arrived in the United States, and some consumers are confused about what cloud streaming is or whether they have enough internet connectivity to play PS3 games smoothly
Premium isn’t quite the solution to Xbox Game Pass because, unlike Microsoft’s Starfield, all PlayStation new releases will not be available on day one. Even if the dearth of day one exclusives is frustrating, there are still plenty of new and vintage titles to play.
Even worse, you won’t be able to download PS3 games.

In terms of functionality, it allows users to watch games on your console. While the Premium tier is required for PS3 classics. It also allows you to stream PS One, PS2, PSP, and PS4 games on your PS4, PS5, or PC.
If you’d rather download games then the good news is that you can do so for the PS One, PS2, and PSP. Unfortunately, the PS3 classics do not have this option.
According to CBR, the inability to download PS3 classics is due to the PlayStation 3’s notoriously challenging hardware for developers. Emulation is known to be difficult, however, ModernVintageG, a developer for Limited Run Games has stated on Twitter that it is possible, but that ‘Sony never was interested in investing the millions to make it happen.’
For cloud streaming to operate on your PlayStation 4, PS5, or PC, you’ll need a minimum internet speed & broadband connection of 5Mbps, according to Sony’s PS Plus getting started a website.
Furthermore, a connection of at least 15Mbps is required to stream at 1080p resolution for games that support it. Keep in mind that Sony only recommends these speeds as a basic minimum.
While Sony recommends the very minimum, the higher your internet connection, the better your cloud streaming experiences will be. If your internet connection is slow, you will most likely experience lag.
Players may now play games including Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, and NBA 2K22.
Players may choose from over 700 games from PlayStation Studios developers including Insomniac Games. Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch, as well as third-party partners like Rockstar Games, Square Enix, Eb Games, and others.
