Manish Sisodia had said that the Delhi government is planning to announce a prize money for all the athletes who would win a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics for India
The prize money has also been announced for their coaches.
Prize money for Indian players participating in Tokyo Olympics 2020 announced
The Delhi Government announced on Friday that coaches of players who would be winning the medals in the games would also be given cash prizes. The coaches would be given an amount of Rs. 10lakhs, if the athlete won a medal in the Games. If an athlete wins a gold medal in an event, then he/she would be awarded a cash prize of Rs.3 crore, and if an athlete wins a silver medal, then they would be awarded a cash prize of Rs.2 crore and if an athlete wins a bronze medal, then they would be awarded a cash prize of Rs.1 crore.
It remains to be seen though if the prize money is actually meted out to the winners with a slew of such cash remunerations announced by the AAP government in the city yet to fulfilled after a string of years.
During a meeting held on Friday, Sisodia said, “The preparations for the Olympics are going on in full swing and the motive is to produce more players for the Olympics in the future. We are planning to build a world class sports university.

Indian players from Delhi who would be participating in Tokyo Olympics
The names of the Athletes who belong from Delhi and are participating in Tokyo Olympics and would be would be eligible for the cash prize are:
1. Deepak Kumar (Shooter)
2. Manika Batra (Table Tennis player)
3. Amoj Jacob and Sarthak Bhambri (sprinters)
The role of Delhi Sports University
In the meeting which was held on Friday, Sisodia, mentioned that the role of the Delhi Sports University is to nurture the athletes for representing India for upcoming Olympics. Delhi is also hopeful of conducting the 2048 Olympic Games.
Sisodia further revealed, “The university would be organizing sports events in Delhi, in order to promote sports among the youth and to encourage to participate in it as well.”
