Calicut Heroes defeated Hyderabad Blackhawks 4-1 to earn their second victory in as many games in the 2023 RuPay Prime Volleyball League. Although Hyderabad fell behind 2-5 early in the first set, they came back to even the score at 7-7 as the two teams got off to a competitive start. The seasoned leaders of Calicut Heroes, however, proved to be too much for Tom Joseph’s team. Hyderabad lost its way after a series of forced blunders, particularly in the second and third sets. Even though they dominated the fourth, the match was already over as Kishor Kumar’s team added another 4-1 victory.
After their blistering 5-0 win in the previous match, Mumbai Meteors will be high on confidence when they face-off against the hosts Bengaluru Torpedoes. Meanwhile, Bengaluru will be hoping to break their losing run and register their first points of the season buoyed by the home crowd. According to the official schedule, the game will kick-off at the Koramangala Stadium on Sunday at 7:00 PM IST. In the second match of Sunday, in-form reigning champions Kolkata Thunderbolts will clash against last season’s bottom-placed Kochi Blue Spikers, who are still in search of their first win.
