After defeating Chennai Blitz at the Gachibowli indoor venue on Thursday, Bengaluru Torpedoes kept up their winning ways in the 2023 Prime Volleyball league. Meanwhile, the reigning champions Kolkata Thunderbolts succumbed to their first loss of the season.

At the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Thursday, Calicut Heroes shocked the reigning champion Bengal Thunderbolts in the 2023 RuPay Premier Volleyball League by winning 15-14, 7-15, 15-11, 13-15, & 15-13. Calicut Heroes retained their composure to win the pivotal final set 15-13 and seal the victory despite Kolkata winning the fourth set to force it. For his immense contribution towards Calicut’s hat-trick of victories, Jerome Vinith was selected as the Player of the Match.
In the first match of Thursday, Bengaluru Torpedoes earned their second consecutive victory after defeating Chennai Blitz by score of 3-2. This loss meant that Chennai have suffered their second straight defeat to stay seventh in the table with just two points from three games. Owing to his stellar performance that changed momentum of the game, Ibin Jose was recognized as the player of the match.
In an effort to continue their winning streak, Bengaluru Torpedoes will face Kochi Blue Spiker at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. Mumbai Meteors, who are making their debut, will play Ahmedabad Defenders in the opening game of Friday. While this is going on, Kochi Blue Spikers will try to win their first game of the season and move up the rankings.
