Football fans will be thrilled to experience non-stop football throughout the next season as the premier league will also be interrupted by the Qatar World Cup 2022. Read on to know all about the schedule.
As you all know by now, the World Cup will be held during winters next year i.e. from November to December. Even though fans might not be on board with an idea of a winter World Cup, FIFA will not listen to anybody. As for the Premier League, the 2022-23 season will start a bit earlier and end later than usual. Here is the full schedule for the next PL season.
Premier League 2022 Season Confirmed Start Date And Schedule
The season will start on 6th August, 2022 and conclude by May 28th, 2023. But the Premier League will be stopped mid-way for a break in November to accommodate the Qatar World Cup which begins on 14th November and ends by 26th December. The current season i.e. 2021-22 season kicked off on 13th August this year, a week earlier than the scheduled start date for the next PL season. The English League will then come to a halt post Matchweek 16, which means around 12th– 13th November.
Premier League 2022 Winter Break
On 14th November, players will be required to report for National duties in their respective home countries from where they start their preparation for the World Cup. From November 21st, the Cup fixtures will commence up till the final which will be played on December 18th. After that, players will only have a week to fly back to the clubs they play for as PL will again kick off from December 26th and come to an end on May 28th, 2023.
So this is definitely not going to be easy for the players and they are in for a very rough and hectic ride as soon as the next Premier League season arrives. Only a week to train with their national teams before a World Cup tournament? That sounds dreadful. And don’t forget the pre and post World Cup hustle in the Premier League. FIFA should really consider giving the players a break.
