Mann Ki Baat Highlights: Bhavani Devi and Shivpal Singh Spoken About Ahead Of Tokyo Olympics 2021
The lives of Indian sportspersons are the most inspiring ones. Almost 90% of Indian sportspersons began their sports journey with 0 resources. However, these are the ones that have the potential to defeat the highly trained and highly resourced as well.
PM stated that Bhavani Devi and Shivapal Singh are living examples. Bhavani Devi hails from Chennai and is going to represent India in fencing in Olympics. She is the only Indian fencer who has qualified for the Olympics to date. Her mother had to mortgage all her gold belongings for her training and education.
Another example is Shivpal Singh, his entire family is associated with either javelin throw or other sports. When you belong to a sports background then the responsibilities become a little higher. His father, brother, and uncle all are ace javelin throw players. Definitely, his family’s sports history is going to favor him a lot in Tokyo Olympics.
