Philadelphia 76ers Will Only Trade Ben Simmons For A Player Who Will Keep Them A Championship Contender

Philadelphia 76ers’ stance regarding Ben Simmons remains clear with the side unwilling to trade him for role players

The general consensus after the latest Ben Simmons controversy is that he and Philadelphia 76ers need to part company at the earliest plausible.

Just at a time when it looked like the two parties could finally put to bed their differences after Simmons turned up for training on October 11, things took little time in turning sour between the two again. Simmons was thrown out of practice by Doc Rivers after showing complete disregard to the head coach with the player also being suspended for the 76ers’ opening game of the 2022 season.

“At the end of the day, as a coach, I have to protect the team. The team’s first, and then we get to the other part. So, today, I just thought it was more important to focus on the team,” Rivers said of his decision.

Philadelphia 76ers Refuse To Trade Ben Simmons For Role Players

Joel Embiid went onto further assert that the 76ers had finally had enough of Simmons with him talking about how he had no interest in what Simmons did anymore and how he wasn’t there to babysit players. However, despite Simmons not being conducive to the team’s environment anymore, the 76ers have not got him off their books as of now.

Its down to Simmons tanking his trade value with his decadent personality seeing teams veer clear of him at the moment. Also, the 76ers have maintained a clear outlook on the player’s trade with the team only willing to let go off Simmons for a player of his stature, someone who continues to make the 76ers a championship contender side and not for role players.
