The comments from Joel Embiid on Ben Simmons after his suspension make it clear that the player has no supporters left at Philadelphia 76ers

When Ben Simmons had ended up sauntering to the Philadelphia 76ers training sessions on October 11, Joel Embiid was optimistic about Simmons’ future with the side.

Embiid had talked about how it was the best move for all parties involved with him even talking about how Simmons provided the 76ers with the best opportunity to win. However, only a week later, Embiid’s stance on Simmons has completely overhauled his position on Simmons with him left livid with the player after his latest antics.

Simmons was kicked out of practice by Doc Rivers after he refused to adhere to the coach’s call of being subbed into a drill. Doc Rivers even went onto suspended Simmons for the 76ers first game of the 2022 NBA season with Simmons having been fined a total of $1.4 million till now for missing four preseason games.

Asked to comment on Simmons’ suspension and what had transpired in practice, Embiid went onto talk about how he was least concerned about Simmons anymore and that he wasn’t there to babysit players.

“At this point I don’t care about that man honestly. He does whatever he wants. That’s not my job. So like I said, I don’t really care.

“At the end of the day, our job is not to babysit somebody. We get paid to produce on the court, play hard, win some games, that’s all we get paid for. We don’t get paid to come out here and try to babysit somebody. That’s not our job and I’m sure my teammates feel that way,” Embiid said when asked about Simmons.
