After fleeing to Pakistan with his family and millions of muslims in 1947, Pervez was raised in Karachi and Istanbul along with his two siblings, Javed and Naved.

He completed a degree in mathematics at the Forman Christian College, Lahore. Later, he went to pursue further studies at the Royal College of Defence Studies in the United Kingdom.

He became the 10th president after the successful military couple in the nation in 1999. He joined the Pakistani Army when he was 18 years old. During his time in the Army he fought against India 3 times.

Musharraf’s brother Javed also joined the Army along with him and retired as a high level official in Pakistan’s civil service.

Musharraf tied the knot with Sehba, who also hails from Karachi, on December 28, 1968. The couple had a daughter, Ayla, who’s an architect, and a son, Bilal.
