A Danish professional tennis player, Holger Rune, who’s ranked No. 9 in singles by the ATP is making headlines as he drove host Denmark to a win vs India 3-2 after winning all his 3 matches in the Davis Cup, know the 2023 results
The Gentofte native was in the reverse singles against Sumit Nagal on Saturday, Feb 4, after he won the doubles match in partnership with Johannes Ingildsen against Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri.

Rune who was facing Sumit, who served at 5-3, 40-15, came up with the right shots to wriggle out of trouble.
The 25-year-old Indian tennis player who ranked at 506 was unnerved by the favorable flow but lost his grip on the contest.
It was really praise worthy that Sumit had pulled through that far, especially after putting the nation on par on the opening day after beating August Holmgren in 3 sets.
However, Rune was struggling with his serve throughout the first set as he faced breakpoints in almost each game. It seemed like a trend which broke after he fired 2 aces to save his two breakpoints at 15-40 in the second game of the first set.
After which Sumit wasn’t able to catch up with Rune. Although it was disappointing for the nation that our team could not fight well in doubles.
But netizens are wondering whether the fact that captain Rohit Rajpal had planned the match only on 3 players should be considered injudicious.
If you’re wondering, let us tell you, Denmark being the host did enjoy the home advantage of playing on indoor hard courts but the fact remained that India would have fought better within its boundaries.
