PEFI National Karate Championship To Be Held In Manthan School Greater Noida From 29th – 31st December 2022

Physical Education Foundation of India is organizing the National Level Karate Championship at Manthan School Noida in Demeber 2022

Physical Education Foundation of India, under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in association with The Manthan School, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh is organizing the National Karate Championship from 29th – 31st December, 2022 at The Manthan School, Greater Noida.

This is India’s first national level karate championship with competitions in three styles of karate. Over 500 karate players from 15 states have registered to compete under various categories. In its first edition the championship is already India’s largest amateur competitive platform for martial arts.

The much awaited national championship will be inaugurated by chief guests for the inauguration Dr. Somendra Singh Tomar, Minister of State, Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energy, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Sh. Manoj Tiwari Ji Member of Parliament, Patron PEFI, Former President BJP Delhi Pradesh. Shri. Lal Singh Arya, National President, SC Morcha BJP, Former Minister – Government of Madhya Pradesh, Sh. Ramesh Chand Mishra Ji MLA – Badlapur, President PEFI Uttar Pradesh, Dr. A. K. Bansal Dronacharya Awardee (Hockey), Sh. Devendra Singh Tomar, New Delhi are guests of honor for the inauguration.

Dr. Piyush Jain, National Secretary PEFI stated that, The National level tournament is part of PEFI’s commitment to promote participation in martial arts, especially at the grassroot level. India has a rich history of martial arts, there are many indigenously developed martial arts which are about to extinct. Therefore it is important that platforms for popularization of martial arts are created across the country in order to ensure the resurrection of martial arts in India.

It is a very inexpensive sport and doesn’t need extensive infrastructure and has potential to open up new opportunities for young students. There was certainly an urgent need for a national level tournament where karate students from various styles could come on a single platform to showcase their talent. We are also committed to make this India largest talent identification platform of competitive karate.

He further stated that the future of martial arts in India is definitely very bright if the right platforms are created and martial arts practitioners are given enough opportunities to compete on the national and international stage. Our long term objective behind this tournament is to develop this into a global event in coming years. In the first edition the tournament will be conducted in three formats i.e.Traditional Karate, Non Contact Karate and Full Contact Karate.

Dr. Mahesh Sharma Ji, Member of Parliament , Gautam Buddha Nagar, Dr. Anil Agarwal Ji, Member of Parliament, and Sh. Tejpal Nagar Ji MLA Dadri will be chief guest for closing day that is 31st December 2022.
