The Professional Darts Corporation will host the 30th World Championship in 2022โ2023, known as the PDC World Darts Championship. This event will take held in London from December 15, 2022, to January 3, 2023, at the Alexandra Palace.
As per tradition, winner receives the Sid Waddell Trophy, which was created in honor of the darts commentator Sid Waddell, who passed away in 2012. It is the most prestigious competition held by the PDC and is regarded as a component of the Triple Crown together with the Premier League Darts and the World Matchplay.

History of PDC World Darts Championship, Format, & All Edition Details
The PDC was founded in 1992 by a few well-known players, including every BDO World Darts Championship champion who was still competing. PDC held its first World Championship in 1994 and the inaugural competition was won by Dennis Priestley. Since 2002, when the PDC prize pool first surpassed the BDO’s, no other darts competition had a bigger prize pool than the PDC event. With the World Champion taking home ยฃ200,000 in 2010, the prize pool finally topped ยฃ1 million.
For their victories, the PDC World Champions from 2014 and 2015 each received ยฃ250,000. The winner’s share increased to ยฃ50,000 each year for the following, with a ยฃ1.8 million prize fund in 2018. As of the 2019 season, the prize pool for the competition is set at ยฃ2.5 million, with ยฃ500,000 going to the victor. The PDC World Darts Championship was previously hosted at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, Essex, from 1994 to 2007. It has subsequently moved to Alexandra Palace in London.

Prize Money Pool Distribution at 2022/23 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2022/23 PDC World Darts Championship champion will get prize money of ยฃ500,000, while the runner-up of this illustrious competition will receive ยฃ200,000. Like recent editions, the net prize fund for this edition has maintained at ยฃ2,500,000. Each participant in this competition will receive a reward of ยฃ7,500, while semi-final losers will receive a reward of ยฃ100,000.
