Here’s all you need to know about the present situation at Old Trafford, including estimated comeback dates for players who are currently out injured.

Paul Pogba

Man United supporters and staff must have let out a collective moan when Paul Pogba was forced to leave the midweek match against Liverpool after only 10 minutes, hobbling off after hurting his calf muscle, adding to Rangnick’s injury woes.

The Frenchman will be evaluated ahead of this weekend’s match, but there are concerns that this may be a long-term issue, especially with United only having five games remaining in the season. He is now a doubt for the following two games against Arsenal and Chelsea. He is likely to miss the remainder of the season.

Rangnick stated on Wednesday: “He strained his calf muscle, and it doesn’t appear that this will be an injury like Fred’s, which will heal in a week. I’m afraid he won’t be able to play for Arsenal or Chelsea.”

Fred

Fred, a Brazilian midfielder, has missed Man Utd’s previous two games after being pulled in the first half of Man Utd’s 1-0 defeat to Everton on April 9. Rangnick substituted him after 36 minutes owing to groyne concerns.

Rangnick went on to say that he has been suffering from muscle difficulties in his hip flexor. But, it appears that Fred’s match against Arsenal on Saturday will come too soon for him, as Rangnick confirmed.

Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw is still side lined for up to another four or five weeks due to a calf injury. It required the removal of two metal studs in his leg two weeks ago. This means he will not play again this weekend.

The England international is poised for another extended layoff after appearing for just 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Leicester on April 2. There are concerns over whether he will return before the conclusion of the season.

He’ll be at least another four or five weeks, Rangnick stated on April 15. He’ll have a hard time being available for the great games.
