Major Deal for ONE Championship
The parent business of ONE Championship, a martial arts platform, has raised $150 million in a fundraising round.
The money will contribute to develop the league beyond Asia, according to the Singapore-based sports media company and mixed martial arts promoter.
The Qatar Investment Authority, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, and Guggenheim Investments led the round. According to reports, the One Championship is now worth over $1 billion.
Future Plans
The gaming network ONE Esports, which is part of Group ONE Holdings, is already a key player in the worldwide sports arena.
According to reports, the corporation aims to bring ONE Championship to the United States, where it will most likely compete with the UFC.
The funding will also help to generate new material for the organisation. “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition,” ONE Championship’s reality TV show, will premiere on Netflix sometime this quarter, however it will not be available in the United States.
