Alexandra Paul, a Canadian Olympic figure skater, was 31 when she was killed in a car accident. On Tuesday in Ontario, a truck struck several stationary vehicles, killing the woman, according to authorities.

Her infant, who was in the car with her, lived and received hospital treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Ms Paul was a “shining star on and off the ice” who left an “indelible mark” on the world of figure skating, Skate Canada stated, as per BBC.com.
She represented Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and won a silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. She won numerous international medals with Mitchell Islam, her skating partner and husband, before quitting the sport in 2016.

Paul’s professional career reached its apex in 2010 when she represented Canada in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. She finished the ice dance competition in sixth place because to her flawless dancing and superior technical skills. She now ranks among Canada’s top figure skating stars as a result of this feat.

Alexandra Paul switched her focus from skating competitively to coaching and mentoring aspiring skaters in 2012. She founded a skating school in Toronto as a result of her love for the sport, where she taught the upcoming generation of talented figure skaters. Her commitment to imparting her knowledge and experience with aspiring skaters was well-recognized and admired throughout the figure skating community.
Beyond her achievements on the ice, Alexandra Paul has a significant impact on the world of figure skaters. Her dedication to the sport and support of the aspiring skaters of the future will never be forgotten. She dedicated her life to figure skating and never wavered in her belief in its transformative power. The Alexandra Paul Skating Academy she established will serve as a testament to this.
Alexandra Paul’s education
Alexandra retired in April 2017 and graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor’s in political science.
In 2021, she graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Law School.
Alexandra Paul’s marriage
She married Mitchell Islam, her skating partner, in September of 2021. The two welcomed their son named Charles, their only kid.
