The purpose of the OEW is to engage with the competitive gaming scene and promote the development of esports inside the Olympic Movement.

The Olympic Esports finalists will compete in Singapore for either the honour of being named the first Olympic Esports Series Chess Master or the title of Olympic Esports Series Winners.

The OEW will highlight the best of virtual sports in addition to the finals for the 10 games by exhibiting the most recent developments, having panel discussions, organising educational sessions, and hosting exhibition matches in other games.
