Ollie Tanner will continue to play for the Isthmian League Premier Division club. Know why a deadlock in talks between the player and the club occurred.
Explained Why Did A Transfer For Ollie Tanner Collapse For Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur had struck a 100,000 pounds deal with Lewes to bring the 19-year old forward to North London, but it turns out that the East Sussex club want the youngster to remain with them.
Lewes came out with a statement claiming that the player and Tottenham could not strike an agreement as the 19-year old was unable to agree personal terms. Here’s what the statement read:
“Lewes Football Club have would like to confirm that whilst the club and another Premier League club agreed a deal in principle for the transfer of Ollie Tanner, Ollie and the Premier League club were not ultimately able to agree personal terms and he remains a Lewes FC player.”
The news of Tanner’s rejection comes as a huge blow to Tottenham and its fans who have missed out on landing a number of attacking options for their squad. And to get rejected by a 19-year old non-league player is surely not something Tottenham fans will be able to digest very easily.
