After Thai driver Alex Albon was ruled out with appendicitis, Dutch driver Nyck de Vries made his Formula One racing debut with Williams in Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix.
Williams said that 26-year-old Albon was receiving treatment after visiting a nearby hospital for guidance after feeling ill on Saturday morning.

Nyck de Vries is well known Dutch racing driver. He has been in the news because he recently made his Formula One racing debut in Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix after Thai driver Alex Albon was ruled out because of appendicitis.
He was born on 6 February 1995 in Uitwellingerga, Netherlands. He holds Dutch nationality. His father’s name is Hendrik Jan de Vries who is a car dealer and his mother’s name is Naomi Hesseling who is a homemaker. He also has one sister and her name is Seychelle de Vries.
From January 2010 until May 2019. he was a member of the McLaren Young Driver Program, and from October 2016 to August 2019 he was a member of the Audi Sport Racing Academy.
Apart from racing, he also loves to do Piano playing, skiing, and engaging in watersports.
He is currently 27 years old with his height at 5 feet 6 inches.
His Career
He triumphed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2019, the 2020–21 Formula E World Championship, and the 2010–11 Karting World Championships.
He also serves as the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team’s backup driver.
At the Italian Grand Prix in September 2022, he made his Formula One debut for Williams.
