49-year-old Portuguese signs a 2.5-year contract with English club. Nuno has a current net worth of $1-10 million.
After speaking with club owner Evangelos Marinakis, the former manager of Tottenham and Wolves is anticipated to be announced as the new Forest manager on Wednesday. Cooper’s two-year reign came to an end on Tuesday after his relationship with Marinakis grew more tense in recent months. During this time, Forest returned to the top flight for the first time in this century.
The 44-year-old Welshman was reportedly paid almost £2 million annually under a contract that expired in 2025, and it is anticipated that his compensation will be approximately the same.
“We appreciate Steve’s hard work and devotion during his tenure with us, along with the amazing bond he created with our fans and the community,” Marinakis stated. Steve will always be welcomed at the City Ground and will always be a friend of the team.
To complete his comeback to English football two years after a terrible four-month stint at Tottenham, Nuno, 49, was at Forest on Tuesday night. From 2017 to 21, he was among Wolves’ greatest managers, leading the team from the Championship’s bottom half to the Europa League.

According to sources, Cooper and Marinakis’ communication collapsed as frustrations with Forest’s performance mounted. To avoid having to pay compensation, Forest hoped that Cooper would be hired by another team, like Crystal Palace.
Insiders claim that during Cooper’s tenure at the club, he showed respect to all employees, but that higher-ups did not always return the favour. Due to Forest’s abundance of players, high earners were not always selected for the matchday team, which created problems off the field.
Additionally, Cooper is believed to have had minimal influence over several of Forest’s transfer transactions, particularly those completed on deadline day. Conversely, insiders assert that the management was supported when he recognized places to improve. The crowd loved Cooper, and former England cricketer Stuart Broad said he had restored a sense of happiness not seen since Brian Clough.
